The Concert On The Pier Series is ready to go with the first concert slated for Wednesday June 24. The chamber is delighted to welcome back Key Bank and The Peninsula Daily News as season long title sponsors and excited to announce a new title sponsor of the Elwha River Casino. Also participating in the sponsor category of partner will be Sunset Do It Best Hardware during the first half of the season and Rayonier Corp. helping out for the second half. This business community participation is critical to the success of the concert series and on behalf of the residents of the area and membership of the chamber we sincerely thank our sponsors.
This year in keeping with the past several, the music selection committee has once again brought back some of the crowd favorites, but have also added some new groups which we are sure will be very popular. A key element that makes this event so much fun is the very low key atmosphere the City Pier location creates. Surrounded by water, boats at anchor, a view of the Olympic Mountains, and of course the classic northwest sunsets; Concert On The Pier attendees are treated to a wonderful environment of sights and sounds. This year we are fortunate to have the new Gateway Plaza as a backup should heavy wind or marginal weather be forecast.
The first concert is slated for June 24th from 6PM to 8PM and will continue each Wednesday until September 2. As a much anticipated event in town, the concerts will again welcome the entire community free of charge. As in the past vendors will be available on the pier or stop by a restaurant first for an early dinner or get your meal to go and take it with you to the pier. Bring a chair, blanket some friends or the whole family for some summer fun and entertainment.
Remember the pier is a no smoking no alcohol environment.
