Name: Friends to show Behind The Sun, serve free supper
    Date: November 14, 2018
    Time: 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM PST
    Event Description:
The Peninsula Evangelical Friends Church congregation provides free food for both your body and your soul at Meal and a Movie gatherings, 6:00 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. Wednesday, Nov. 14, the movie will be Behind The Sun, an emotionally charged story of a young man’s choice…a father’s pain…and a family torn apart. This extremely well-produced, 56-minute, dramatic film is based on real experiences of people fearfully returning to their Muslim families in the Middle East, after having become Christians while attending college in the United States. “Our Meal and a Movie events are family-friendly,” said Vicki Carlisle, clerk of the Social Committee. “Bring the whole family and watch the movie together as you eat.” Supper is homemade soup with bread or rolls and home-baked cookies. The movie starts as soon as people are served. The Friends church’s second-Wednesday-of-the-month ‘Meal and a Movie’ is the only free community meal in the greater Agnew area, between Port Angeles and Sequim. “We are reaching out to meet the need for food for body and soul,” Carlisle said. “We also welcome visitors to worship with us Sundays at 9:30 a.m.”
The Friends Church is at 1291 N. Barr Rd., Port Angeles. Parking is available on both Barr Rd. and Old Olympic Highway, where there is a handicap access ramp.
