OPA OFFERS TWO FREE SEMINARS ON WAYS TO PUBLISH FOR WRITERS, EXPERIENCED TO NEWBIES On Thursday, September 14, Olympic Peninsula Authors begins its seminar series on publishing your book. The first program is 6:00-7:30 pm in the Carver Room at the North Olympic Library in Port Angeles. It will feature a presentation by Trifecta Publishing House. Trifecta is a 'boutique' publisher and member of the Independent Book Publishing Association. It is one model for the new small publishers today, occupying the niche that has emerged between 'traditional' publishers and the world of self-publishing. The presenter is Lori Lyn, Director of Marketing and Acquisitions Editor for Trifecta. She is one of the publishing house founders and an award-winning author herself. Lyn will speak to writers at all career levels about the publishing side of the business, including the key components that a writer needs to consider; the definition of branding; a realistic time frame from draft to ebook and print; what costs to expect. There will be ample time for questions and discussion. Copies of books published by Trifecta will be available for purchase following the presentation. Also, Trifecta is currently open for submissions in all genre of fiction; for submission guidelines see trifectapublishinghouse.com. Olympic Peninsula Authors was formed to increase awareness of the many fine writers in our community and to offer author support through programs such as this. This is a free event for writers at all levels. The second seminar in the series will feature Self-Publishing How-To's and How-Not's. It is scheduled for October 19, 6:00 -7:30 at the Sequim Library.
